Stack the shapes and gears on the rods so the gears align and rotate together.
Children witness how parts of a whole can come together to get things in motion. They stack up the gears and all the elements within it and are marvelled to see the gears rotate in motion.
Set includes a base with rods, set of 3 wooden gears, 3 pairs of 2D shapes, set of 3 3D shapes and a detailed instruction manual all packed in a beautiful Skola Doodle box.
Size of Stacked Pieces: 24 cm x 9 cm x 5.5 cm
Once they know more about partial pairing of shapes, children can start pairing shapes with their abstract counterparts (See How).
As children stack, there is a sense of geometric awareness that each shape will only fit in its correct holder. Children stimulate their cognitive thinking ability by seeing how turning one gear triggers motion in the other two gears. This also introduces the concept of partial pairing. As they twist and turn the gears, their hand movements aid in writing. This makes it an ideal pre-writing toy. Stacking and pulling out shapes makes children dexterous.
Remove all the pieces. Place the 3D holders one on each of the rods, then stack back the pieces depending on the shape of the holder. Point out that the gears are in a straight horizontal line, connected.
